IDEAS Episode 14 - Negotiating Learning Differences within Culturally Diverse Context - An International Student's Perspective

In this week's episode of IDEAS, Chukwudi Nwobodo, an international student with the Master of Arts in Educational Technology and Learning Design (ETLD) program at the Faculty of Education shares his experiences, challenges, and advice on negotiating learning differences within a culturally diverse context. Chukwudi is the information and communication technology Manager of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Headquarters in Jos, Nigeria. He also doubles as a youth leader of his local youth council with over 2,000 youth members. In addition to his community work, he is currently the Social Media Manager for the Education Graduate Students Association (EGSA) at Simon Fraser University, where he shares his expertise and experience from the field of information and web technologies. His research interest is situated around the use of technology and in particular educational technology for inclusion both in learning and living. And in particular his MA research is looking at the use of educational technologies in educating indigenous youths and connecting them to the roots and cultures as a way of preventing depression and preventing the raising suicide cases. He is currently studying from his home country Nigeria.
